The Flames Go Skydiving

The Flames Go Skydiving

15 May 2011

On the 15th of May, all the Northgate skydivers were up with the sparrows making their way to the Netheravon army base located between Salisbury and Marlborough in the idyllic Wiltshire countryside. After going through all the army protocol to enter the base, the butterflies in the skydiver’s stomachs were in full flight. Next on the agenda was training. After a rather humorous training session, we rather nervously got ourselves kitted up with the jump suits, harnesses and pixie-like hats with goggles.

First to set off was Carla, Sam and Ellie while Mark and Dane waited to see if they would survive. After all three making it back to earth, it was now time for Mark and Dane to dive out of the plane while being videoed free-falling at 125 mph for 45 seconds from 13 000ft. It was divided amongst the group whether we would dangle ourselves out of a plane and hurtle towards the ground again, however it was unanimous that once up in the plane the butterflies were gone....... and in fact eagles had taken over. Well maybe not for Sam who was rather cool about the whole ordeal.

David, who is the founder and a certified search addict, and his wife lovely Carina both joined the team for moral support while representing a451 and our chosen children's charity Dreams Come True respectively.

Everyone on the team would like to thank all our sponsors for their generous donations and helping us make someone's dream come true.
