Christopher Wood whose other exploits you can read about here and here, has taken on yet another competition. We already know he has a track record of attending Iron Man Contests and Triathlon events but now he has gone one step further.
He represented Team GB yesterday at the ITU World Duathlon Championships in Spain. Chris only started competing seriously in the various formats of the triathlon and corresponding duathlon in 2008 but he has rapidly raced his way to recognition on a global scale in his age-group. He has risen into the global arena and has been competing for Team GB itself.
Here at a451we can only imagine how it must feel to be representing your country and, considering the gruelling world of triathlons, we take our hat off to Chris for competing and continually doing well!
With Chris’ current track record you would think he had achieved all that he wanted to but that is not the case! He has many goals which include qualifying for the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Nevada, USA in November.
As for yesterday, in Gijon Spain, Chris let us know the outcome –
“No official time showing for 35-39 Male Age Group, so my own timings for now…Overall 1:58:08, no idea on position but chuffed with all split timings. Approximately 38 mins 10 km run / 58 mins 20 km cycle / 19 mins 5 km run. Those boys are fast!”
Chris has done Great Britain, himself and a451 proud! We wish him a safe trip home, a relaxing recovery and another competition with equally great results!
