Chris Wood is back from his trip to Regensburg and we expect he is thoroughly tired! Our a451 associate was competing in the Iron Man contest in Germany and has reported his results to use here.

This contest is a real test of the human stamina and strength and Chris has managed a great feat in Germany. With the first part of the contest a 2.4 mile swim moving on to a 112 mile cycle ride and, if that wasn’t enough, finishing it off with a 26.2 mile marathon! This truly is something that only a favoured few with the commitment and will power could do and Chris Wood managed an extremely respectable time, completing the whole contest in 9hrs and 54 minutes.

He spent 1 hr and 3 minutes on the swim before moving onto the cycle ride, which despite bad weather took 5 hours. Finally, he completed the marathon, with the wind as a great source of coolness, in 3hrs 39 minutes! We are told that for an amateur this is regarded as a pretty respectable time and who are we to disagree?

Yes, all of us here are happy to have Chris back with us and congratulate him as a team for his sterling effort and exceptional capability in the area of Iron Man Contests. Of course, hearing what is involved in these contests has definitely made the a451 team think twice about entering one!
