The occasional a451 Bowling outing took place the week before Easter on 8 April 2009. As always it was a close run thing with Mark nipping the Boss at the final moment. A close run thing indeed.

In the glamorous setting of the 'Lakeside Bowl' in Chichester the a451 Crew assembled to do battle on lane 4 and 5. A greatly anticipated outing...the Bowling Extravaganza always brings out the most competitive elements of the Crew. You could cut the tension with a knife.

The girls played gamely but the constant pressure took its toll. Although racking up a few strikes the game needed the long term view and consistent scoring and the girls fell away.

Although the boys were more of a contest the hours that Mark spent practising made the difference in the end. The Boss also was suffering from various injuries which greatly hampered his scoring ability.

Mark was a worthy winner and the Boss took his defeat with particularly good grace. After Bowling the crew retired to Nando’s for a feast of spicy chicken wings.
